This is particularly damaging as bees have barbed stingers which remain in the victim so they can only sting once before dying, unlike wasps who can sting repeatedly. Honey bee stings can cause an allergic reaction and great care must be taken when removing the sting so as not to inject more venom into the body.

As honey bees can swiftly become entrenched in their home, it is important that you seek professional assistance as soon as possible. It becomes progressively harder to rehome honey bees once they have established a foothold. The quicker you act, the quicker the problem will be removed. It is far easier for a specialist to remove a swarm or nest of honey bees from outside than it is if they have moved into your roof space or chimney. It may be necessary in some extreme cases to kill off the nest but the quicker you react, the less chance there is of this happening.
