Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can Wasp Nest Removals come to remove my wasp nest?

Depending on what time you call us, usually we will have an operator available to come out the same day - otherwise it should be next day.

Which locations in Ireland do you service?

We cover Dublin, Kildare, Meath & Louth.  We also cover parts of South Cavan & Eastern Westmeath.

How much does it cost?

It depends on inspection of the job - no job is the same and it's hard to give a one-off price..... Please call us and we can give you a quote over the phone.

How long does the removal take?

Once we get there, it usually takes around  20 - 30 mins.  Some longer, some shorter, depending on location of the nest.

Is the treatment permanent?

We spray a dust that is toxic to wasps.  Usually there will be a residue of the powder and the chances of wasp nest returning to that location are slim, but there are no guarantees....

Do I need to vacate the property for the duration of the treatment?

Not usually.  The wasp nest is usually situation in a shed, porch, attic or to the side of a house - so evacuation will be minimal.

Do I need to prepare the area in any way for your arrival?

If it's safe to do so, please clear the area so our technician(s) have clear access.

How soon after treatment can I return and use the room/area?

We recommend the area is aired out in abundance, so any residues of chemicals are removed from your space.

How can I recognise the species I’m dealing with?

There is really one 'common' wasp that causes all the grief.  There are many varieties of wasp, the ones that cause the bother are the 'common' and the 'german' wasps.  They are the 'yellow jacket' type wasps.

Remember that bees are protected and have to be removed humanely by a bee keeper.

I can see wasps going in and out of my house but I can’t see a nest. Can you help me?

Yes they are probably going in the wall and are sitting in a cavity, fascia or attic.  Give us a call and we can find where it is.

What should I do if aggravate the nest?

Vacate the area asap! 🙂

I got stung, what should I do?

(Un)fortunately we are not qualified to give medical advice.  However this is what the HSE says about it.... https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/insect-bites-stings/treatment/#:~:text=wash%20the%20affected%20area%20with,reduce%20the%20risk%20of%20infection

I tried to remove the nest myself, can you still help me?

Yes no problem, contact us and we will call out to complete the job for you.

I have another pest infestation. Can you help me?
